"The beauty of hindsight is that it warrants you perspective from a safe distance. All The Things I Now Only Just Understand, is a body of work which testifies to this safe practice of looking at experiences as an afterthought and explores these findings as much through narrative as on the work’s surface. In ‘nutting-out’ these often unfamiliar and dangerously personal epiphanies through the work I have found a motivation to delve deeper, and a surface to show the workings of my thinking process. This body of work has tested my ability to negotiate between form and content and has brought to light some very resonant truths about life and the beauty of picture making."
