HAVE A GO

JAKE WALKER

Jake Walker makes interventions into landscapes – ones of both his own imagining, as well as found paintings - placing ghostly figures and humming orbs into rivers, skies and valleys. Sometimes, we catch a glimpse of a panoramic view through the opening of a cave or dwelling. We look out across the debris of both human industry (collapsing walls and ancient relics) and painting itself (daubs, marks and sketch lines). Figures or faces hover across the field, inserted not only into the fabric of the picture plane but also into the flowing river or overcast sky.
