MATEY, FITZROY & ALFRED

TONEE MESSIAH

"Matey, Fitzroy and Alfred are the names of childhood teddy bears that belong to three brothers, each seven years apart. This body of work is a look-in to the enigmatic exchange between these brothers and the individual toil of each to live along side and against the other. Observing the communication between them I had the privilege of scrutinising the subtle nuances therein - momentary fluctuation between unyielding individuality and a tapering to each others judgements.  The works I have created are studies into the physical manifestation of these observations. The bears today, almost as old as their owners, sit quietly on display in each brother’s house."
