Rainbow. Paddle. Pop.

EMMA BEER

Rainbow. Paddle. Pop. is a suite of most recent paintings by Emma Beer and riffs off the experience of walking amongst the light at sunrise or sunset when every colour of the rainbow is seen in the sky, shifting fast and slow all at the same time.

Beer attempts to capture this light through a single gesture applied at speed emulating the swiftness of time and experience similar to that of watching the light of the sky softly dance.

This is Beer's second exhibition with Gallery 9, most recently she was listed as a finalist for the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize, winner of the 2022  Goulburn Regional Gallery Art Award, and has work acquired in the Art Bank, Sydney collection, Macquarie Group Collection, Canberra Museum and Gallery, Canberra, ACT. and The Australian National University, Drill Hall Gallery, Canberra collections.
