New Zealand's bitter winds and jagged mountain ranges have aroused gothic fantasies in this Dunedin artist. His Arctic wastelands in fine charcoal and oils have a single light source trained on a cast of lonesome polar bears called, Stephanie, Fred and Remington as well as Caroline the sharp-toothed stoat. Off topic, but fun all the same, are suburban scenes starring dismembered limbs and a bar fridge; simple studies in black and white with a splatter of red.
